Zhang Liangchi is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Engineering. He has successively obtained a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering from Zhejiang University, a Doctor of Science from Peking University, and a Higher Doctor of Engineering from the University of Sydney, Australia. He has held positions at Zhejiang University, the University of Cambridge (UK), the National Institute of Mechanical Engineering Technology under Japan's Ministry of International Trade and Industry, the University of Sydney (Australia), and the University of New South Wales (Australia) in sequence. Currently, he is mainly engaged in theoretical and applied research in cross-scale mechanics, precision and ultra-precision manufacturing mechanics, nanotechnology, and biomedical engineering. In scientific research, he emphasizes the integration of basic research and practical application: he has established advanced manufacturing mechanics theories, developed a number of leading technologies, and created annual economic benefits of tens of millions of US dollars for enterprises. He has won more than 20 academic achievement awards.
