He concurrently holds the position of Director of the China Market Economy Research Center at Beijing Normal University, Director of the Chinese Society of Ecological Economics, and Member of the Environmental Economics Branch of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences. He also served as a Senior Visiting Scholar at the Department of Economics, University of Toronto. He has presided over and completed a number of research projects commissioned by the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Finance, and other departments. The consulting reports he led the drafting of have on multiple occasions received positive instructions from Party and state leaders, as well as from key leaders of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and the Beijing Municipal Government.
