He Keqiang was born in October 1960 in Penglai City, Shandong Province. He is a Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Engineering and a Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. He currently serves as a Level-2 Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Civil Engineering, Qingdao University of Technology; Director of the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering, Qingdao University of Technology; Adjunct Doctoral Supervisor at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Executive Director of the Shandong Engineering Research Center for Geo-Environment and Effects; and Academic Leader of the disciplines of Geotechnical Engineering and Geological Engineering at the university.
He Keqiang graduated from the Department of Hydraulic Engineering, Hebei University of Geosciences in 1982 and stayed there to work. He obtained a Master's degree from the Department of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology, China University of Geosciences (Beijing) in 1990. In 1992, he was exceptionally promoted to Associate Professor, and in 1996, he was exceptionally promoted to Professor. He received his Doctoral degree from the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003, and was promoted to Doctoral Supervisor in 2004. In 2019, he was elected as a Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Engineering and a Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
He Keqiang mainly engages in research on geotechnical engineering, geological engineering, and prediction and evaluation of geological disasters.
