He has been selected into the National High-Level Talents (4th Batch) and the Leading Talents in Science and Technology Innovation of Middle-aged and Youth by the Ministry of Science and Technology; Distinguished Professor of "Longjiang Scholar" in Heilongjiang Province; Leading Talent of Shandong Province's Taishan Industry; "Double Innovation" Talent of Jiangsu Province; Leading Innovation Talent of Jiangxi Province's "Double Thousand Plan"; Winner of the 2022 Hou Debang Chemical Science and Technology Award for Innovation; and has been listed in Elsevier's China Highly Cited Researchers for 11 consecutive years (2014-2024). He is the leader of Shenzhen High-Level Talent Team. He serves as Advisory Editorial Board Member of Batteries, and Editorial Board Member of Chinese Journal of Power Sources and Journal of Petrochemical Universities.

He obtained his Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees from Harbin Institute of Technology in 1998, 2002 and 2006 respectively. Since July 1998, he has successively served as Lecturer, Associate Researcher, Doctoral Supervisor and Professor at Harbin Institute of Technology.

His research directions include advanced chemical power sources, hydrogen fuel cells, electrocatalysis, and nano-electrode materials. He has presided over 1 Key Program, 3 General Programs and 1 Youth Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China; 1 project under the Key Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology; 1 Key Research and Development Program of Shandong Province; 10 projects from other provincial and ministerial departments; and over 40 other projects and enterprise-sponsored research topics.

He has published more than 300 SCI papers in journals such as Nature Catalysis, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, and Angewandte Chemie International Edition, with an H-index of 75. In the past 5 years, he has published 78 papers with an Impact Factor (IF) > 10. He has 25 papers selected as ESI Highly Cited Papers (10-year) and 8 as ESI Hot Papers. He has obtained 63 authorized national invention patents, 33 of which have been transferred/transformed. He has won 1 First Prize of National Defense Science and Technology Progress, 2 First Prizes of Heilongjiang Provincial Natural Science, 1 Second Prize of Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Achievement Transformation, and 1 First Prize of Teaching Achievement of Harbin Institute of Technology. He is in charge of 1 Key Project of Heilongjiang Provincial Education Science Planning and 1 University-level Teaching Research Project; he also participated as a core member (ranked 2nd) in 1 Teaching Research Project of New Engineering Disciplines sponsored by the Ministry of Education.
