Dr. Yiwei Wang will join the Department of Computer Science (CS Department) at the University of California, Merced (UC Merced) in January 2025, serving as an Assistant Professor, PhD Supervisor, and Independent Principal Investigator (PI). He currently works as a Postdoctoral Scholar in the NLP group at UCLA. Prior to this, he held the position of a full-time Applied Scientist at Amazon (Seattle) and earned his PhD from the National University of Singapore (NUS).
Academic Honors & Recognitions
Received the SDSC Scholarship and the NUS School of Computing (SoC) Dean's PhD Research Excellence Award.
In 2020, he was named one of the top 10 most influential and innovative PhD students in data science in Singapore by the Singapore Data Science Consortium.

Dr. Wang’s main research interests include:
Natural Language Processing (NLP)
Large Language Models (LLMs)
Graph Neural Networks (GNNs)

He has published over 30 high-quality peer-reviewed papers in top international journals and conferences in the field of AI.
According to Google Scholar, his research work has been cited 1,001 times, with an h-index of 15 and an i10-index of 17.

Serves as a regular reviewer for several ACM and IEEE journals.
Acts as a Program Committee (PC) member or reviewer for top international conferences, including ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, KDD, WWW, ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, IJCAI, AAAI, CVPR, ICCV, and ECCV.
