Professor and doctoral supervisor, currently serving as the Chair of the Department of Architecture at the College of Design, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Director of the Research and Design Center for Wooden Architecture. He holds a doctoral degree in Architectural History and Theory from Tongji University, has been a visiting scholar at Harvard University in the United States and the University of New South Wales in Australia, and a visiting professor at Lehigh University in the United States.
He concurrently serves as a Council Member and Academic Committee Member of the Architectural History Branch of the Architectural Society of China, Vice President of the Research Association for Ancient Gardens and Architecture of the China Yuanmingyuan Society, Deputy Director of the Residential Architecture Professional Committee of the Chinese National Architecture Research Association, Member of the Architectural History Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for the History of Science and Technology, Member of the Architectural Archaeology Professional Committee of the Chinese Archaeological Society, Member of the Wood and Composite Material Structures Professional Committee of the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization, Deputy Director of the Wood and Bamboo Structures Professional Committee of the Shanghai Civil Engineering Society, etc. He was a Member of the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) from 2013 to 2017. He is also a Member of the Editorial Board of the "Spatial Habitus: Making and Meaning in Asia's Architecture" series published by the University of Hawaii Press, and an Editorial Board Member of the journals "Journal of Architectural History" and "Technology of Ancient Architecture and Gardens".
