Elena Kirillovna Zavyalova is a Professor and Department Head in the Department of Organizational Behavior and Personnel Management at St. Petersburg State University. She holds a Doctor of Psychology (1998) from St. Petersburg State University, a Candidate of Sciences (Biology) from the Military Medical Academy (1980), and a Specialist Diploma in Psychology from St. Petersburg State University (1974). Her core research interests focus on economic psychology, organizational psychological issues in human resource management practices, human resource development in Russia and the former Soviet Union, and innovative HR management/development technologies in the context of the new economy. She has a prolific publication record, with over 90 papers in leading international journals such as the *International Journal of Manpower*, *Foresight and STI Governance*, and *Human Resource Development International*. She has also authored several monographs and contributed to numerous international academic volumes covering key topics such as HR development in BRICS nations, human capital in knowledge-intensive enterprises, and HR management in Russian companies.
Professor Zavyalova possesses extensive experience in both academic service and industry practice. She serves on the editorial boards of international journals including *Human Resource Development International* and *The International Journal of Human Resource Management*. She is a member of several prestigious professional associations, including the Russian Psychological Society, the Academy of Human Resource Development, and the International Association for Research in Economic Psychology. Her practical experience includes serving as an expert for EC TACIS projects and providing HR management consulting services to numerous Russian and international companies such as Shell, Leningrad Energy, and Admiralty Shipyards. Furthermore, she has held visiting academic positions at institutions including the University of California, Berkeley, SSVCH in Stockholm, and ABU-Consult GmbH in Berlin. Her accolades include the Russian government award "Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education" and a letter of gratitude for academic leadership from the Board of Directors of VTB Bank Russia. She has led multiple research projects funded by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR) and international organizations, demonstrating profound expertise and international influence in both the academic research and practical application of human resource development and management.
