Roberto Roson is a graduate of Venice and holds a PhD in Economics from Umeå University in Sweden. He has worked as a visiting scholar at the University of Amsterdam (unfunded), the University of Warwick, Xavier University of San Francisco (Sucre, Bolivia), Universidad Mayor de San Simón (Cochabamba, Bolivia), and in Barcelona, as well as at the World Bank (Washington) and the Institute of Developing Economies (JETRO, Chiba, Japan). He is currently a Professor in the Department of Economics at Ca' Foscari University of Venice. He is affiliated with the GREEN Research Centre at Bocconi University in Milan and served at the Department of Economics of Loyola University Andalusia from 2019 to 2024. He has published numerous international academic books and journal articles and coordinated multiple applied research projects, including the European project WASSERMed. He has acted as a consultant for various organizations such as the European Commission (JRC), the World Bank, GIZ, the United Nations and the Food and Agriculture Organization. He serves as the Scientific Director of CF Applied Economics, a centre for applied economic analysis and research. His research interests mainly cover environmental economics, computational models for economic policy simulation, and industrial economics of the service sector.
