INNOVIAIR encourages authors to post preprints of their primary research manuscripts on selected preprint servers as well as personal or institutional websites. We support open communication among researchers, including community preprint servers or preprint discussion platforms, to promote the early and open dissemination of scientific knowledge.
A preprint refers to a version of a research manuscript publicly posted by the authors before formal journal peer review (see Preprints in the Life Sciences, Science 352, 899–901; 2016). Preprints can be posted at any stage of the peer review process. INNOVIAIR does not consider the posting of a preprint as prior publication, and it will not affect the review of the manuscript in the journal.
INNOVIAIR welcomes manuscripts previously posted on preprint servers such as arXiv, bioRxiv, BioRN, ChemRxiv, ChemRN, or SSRN. After the article is published, we encourage authors to update the preprint record to include a link to the final published article. This not only increases the visibility of the research but also contributes to the integrity and accessibility of the scientific record.
Preprint Disclosure:When submitting a manuscript to an INNOVIAIR journal, authors must disclose preprint posting information, including the DOI and license terms. After the manuscript is accepted and published, authors are required to update the preprint record with the publication citation, DOI, and link to the final article.
Preprint Licensing and Citation:Authors may freely choose a preprint license, including Creative Commons licenses, which specify how the preprint can be shared and reused. Authors must ensure the selected license complies with the requirements of the preprint server. For guidance on license selection, refer to resources developed by the ASAPbio Licensing Working Group.
Preprints may be cited in the reference list of manuscripts submitted to INNOVIAIR journals. A typical citation format is as follows:
Hu Y, Seneviratne S, Thilakarathna K, Kensuke F, Aruna S. Characterizing and detecting money laundering activities on the bitcoin network. arXiv 2019, arXiv:1912.12060.
Media Dissemination of Preprints:Authors may communicate with the media about their preprints or conference presentations but should clearly state that the preprint has not undergone peer review, the research findings are preliminary, and conclusions may change. Media coverage will not affect INNOVIAIR's editorial process, but researchers should note that premature media exposure may impact coverage when the work is formally published.
